Udupi: A minor altercation over extra servings of panipuri at Malpe Beach escalated into a physical clash between tourists and a local vendor, resulting in both parties filing complaints with the police.

The incident took place when a group of tourists from Mandya district visited a panipuri stall near the popular beach. What began as a casual street food experience quickly turned sour when the tourists allegedly demanded additional servings of panipuri from the vendor without extra charge.

An argument erupted between the youths and the shop owner over the request. The verbal disagreement soon intensified, and the situation escalated into a physical scuffle.

Following the altercation, both the tourists and the vendor approached the Malpe Police Station to lodge formal complaints against each other. The police have registered both the complaint and the counter-complaint and are currently investigating the matter.

Authorities are urging both locals and visitors to maintain calm and resolve such issues amicably. Malpe Beach, being a major tourist destination, frequently attracts visitors, and maintaining public decorum remains a priority.
