Udupi: Kannada television actor Rakesh Poojari, best known for winning Comedy Kiladigalu Season 3, passed away following a sudden cardiac arrest during a private event in Nitte, Karkala taluk, on Sunday night.

According to sources, Poojari collapsed while dancing at a Mehendi ceremony. He was rushed to the hospital but did not respond to treatment and was declared dead shortly after.

Rakesh Poojari rose to fame through his comic timing and stage presence on Comedy Kiladigalu, a popular television show that spotlighted emerging comedy talents across Karnataka. His victory in Season 3 brought him statewide recognition, endearing him to fans with his relatable humour and natural performance style.

Following his television success, Rakesh also appeared in a few Kannada films and was steadily building a presence in the film industry.

His sudden demise at a young age has shocked fans and fellow artists alike. Tributes have poured in from across the entertainment fraternity, remembering him for his vibrant personality and his contribution to Kannada comedy.
