Udupi: Social activist, thinker, and eminent psychiatrist Dr P V Bhandary has been selected for the Sangolli Rayanna Award – 2025, announced by the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Abhimani Balaga, Udupi district, in association with the Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Udupi taluk unit.
Award ceremony details
The award ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, at the air-conditioned hall of Yakshagana Kalaranga, IYC, Udupi, said Siddabasayya Swami Chikkamath, president of the organisation, during a press meet.
Contribution to psychiatry and society
Dr Bhandary currently serves as consultant psychiatrist and director at A V Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi, where he has been actively contributing for over 15 years. He is widely recognised for his work in social activism and psychiatry, helping thousands lead healthier, balanced, and harmonious lives.
Known for his guidance in public lectures and social initiatives, Dr Bhandary has earned a reputation for promoting mental wellness and social stability in the region.
