Udupi: A 52-year-old man died by suicide after jumping into a well at Kakkunje in Ambagilu ward of the city late on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Purushottam Nayak. The incident shocked local residents and triggered scenes of grief among family members and neighbours who gathered near the spot after the incident came to light.
According to initial information from local sources, Nayak allegedly tied a nylon rope at his residence before jumping into the well.
