Udupi: The Excise Department on Thursday destroyed 2.794 kg of ganja seized in nine different cases, ensuring its safe disposal at the biomedical waste management unit of M/s Ayush Enviortec Pvt Ltd in the Nandikur Industrial Area, Padubidri.

Environment-friendly disposal

The ganja, which had been confiscated during raids in various parts of Udupi district, was incinerated under the close supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee. Officials confirmed that the process was conducted in an eco-friendly manner, adhering to prescribed safety and environmental standards.

Senior officials oversee operation

Mangaluru Division Joint Excise Commissioner Balakrishna C. H., Udupi Deputy Excise Commissioner Bindushree P., Mangaluru Deputy Excise Commissioner T. M. Srinivas, Udupi Excise Superintendent Ashok H., and Satish Nayak, Marketing Manager of M/s Ayush Enviortec Pvt Ltd, were present to oversee the destruction procedure.
