On Friday, a fancy store owned by Pratima Acharya, located at the Navunda Junction Plaza Grow Complex in Byndoor taluk, was destroyed in an accidental fire. The shop, operated by Pratibha Vijendra Arehole, included a range of items such as a sewing machine, refrigerator, clothing, books, stationery, and approximately ₹5,000 in cash.

The fire broke out around 12:45 pm, shortly after Pratibha closed the shop to visit a temple. Neighbors and local staff noticed smoke and alerted the fire service and police. Despite their efforts to control the blaze, the store was nearly completely gutted, with damages estimated at ₹3 lakh.

The Byndoor police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the fire.
