Udupi: Home Minister G Parameshwara has clarified rumors circulating among the public that the state government would stop its popular five guarantee schemes, he said that the schemes will continue. He added that the schemes were not introduced for political reasons.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said he is unsure to what extent these guarantee schemes help city dwellers, but in rural areas, people are significantly benefiting from them.
He noted that the poor and laborers have immensely benefited from these guarantee schemes.
The Home Minister also mentioned that they would introspect on the defeat the party suffered in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. A meeting under the chairmanship of the KPCC president has already been held. The party has decided to form a committee to thoroughly investigate the reasons for the election defeat, he said.
