Udupi: On January 18, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K Vidykumari and Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Arun conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing Indrali Railway Bridge construction. The officials have instructed the concerned authorities to expedite the work to ensure the project is completed as soon as possible.
Earlier, district officials had visited the site and recommended an extension of one month for the project’s deadline to facilitate quicker progress. The bridge, which has been under construction for seven years, has faced repeated delays. Originally set for completion by January 15, the deadline was recently pushed to January 25 due to slow progress.
During the inspection, the DC and SP emphasized the importance of completing the bridge on time, as it plays a vital role in easing local traffic congestion. They called for immediate action to prevent further delays, which have already caused inconvenience to commuters. The completion of the vehicular bridge is crucial for enhancing connectivity and addressing transportation challenges in the region.
Authorities have been urged to prioritize the timely completion of the project to improve the overall infrastructure and benefit the local community.
