Udupi: A tragic incident occurred at Trasi Beach in Udupi district on Saturday, where a jet ski rider is feared to have drowned while riding through the waves with a tourist. Rohidas, also known as Ravi (41), was working as a jet ski operator at the beach.
Around 5:30 pm, Rohidas took a tourist on a jet ski ride approximately 50 meters from the shore. While navigating through the sea waves, Rohidas lost control of the jet ski. The jet ski surged forward, throwing both the rider and the tourist into the water.
The tourist, who was wearing a life jacket, was rescued by Suresh (31) from Koderi and brought safely to shore. However, despite a thorough search by authorities, Rohidas could not be located, and he is presumed to have drowned. A case has been registered at the Gangolli Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
