The controversy surrounding the Parashurama theme park, involving the Bailur Umikka Hill in Karkala, has resurfaced. Recently, Karkala city police conducted a raid at a godown near Kengeri, Bangalore, belonging to Krishna Nayka, owner of Krish Art World, which constructed the Parashurama statue. The police seized approximately 9 tons of parts of the statue’s waist and transported them back to Karkala for investigation.
During this operation, sculptor Shilpi Krishna Nayka went live on Facebook and removed parts of the idol without prior notice, raising concerns among people of other faiths regarding the security of these spare parts. Congress leader Udayakumar Shetty claimed that Muniyalu was assaulted and insulted based on caste during this incident.
Udupi SP Dr. Arun stated that the confiscated parts were found in Bangalore and confirmed that proper procedures were followed with recorded evidence. The bronze parts have been stored at the city police station, where two legs are currently located, while Ardha Murthy on the hill has two legs.
Congress has raised doubts about whether Parashurama’s idol had four legs, as fiber accessories were displayed at that time. However, it was clarified by the production company that changes were being made to part of the statue using bronze material, debunking claims that it was fake.
This ongoing controversy has generated significant social media attention, with reports confirming that bronze components have been confiscated by authorities, leading to discussions about their authenticity.
