Udupi: A series of bold burglaries has left residents and authorities in Udupi’s Brahmagiri area deeply alarmed. On the late night of June 31, a group of 4 to 5 masked men conducted break-ins across three apartments, with their actions captured on CCTV footage. The intruders, armed and wearing masks, entered the flats between 3 and 3:30 am.

The burglars focused on unoccupied apartments, breaking locks and ransacking the interiors. They left behind disturbing evidence including chewed gutka and jarda, as well as bloodstains, possibly from injuries sustained during the thefts.

A special investigative team, led by an inspector, has been assigned to the case. The team is thoroughly analysing CCTV footage and interrogating potential suspects to find leads. The crimes have sparked concerns about local police vigilance and led to calls for increased patrols in the Udupi Municipal Council area. Residents are urging authorities to strengthen the beat system patrols to improve community safety.

As the investigation continues, the community remains unsettled and is pressing for enhanced security measures to prevent future incidents.
