Byndoor: In a tragic incident, a Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) lineman lost his life after being electrocuted while repairing a transformer near Taggarse village in Heggeri on Monday. The deceased, identified as Saleem (38), was a resident of Mundgod in Uttara Kannada district. Saleem had been dedicatedly serving MESCOM Byndoor for the past eight years.
The incident occurred when Saleem was working on the electrical connections near a power transformer in Heggeri. Unfortunately, during the repair, he came into contact with a live wire, resulting in severe electrocution. Despite being rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, Saleem succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Saleem’s untimely death has left his family and colleagues in deep sorrow. He is survived by his wife and their two-month-old child, who now face an uncertain future. The local community is mourning the loss of a committed worker and a loving family man.
A case regarding the incident has been registered at the Byndoor Police Station. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the accident, aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future.
