Udupi–Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has called on the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to accelerate repair efforts on the Santhekatte underpass road. In a recent meeting held at the Udupi Deputy Commissioner’s office, Poojary directed NHAI officials to apply a wet mix to the road daily and to start extensive repair work as soon as the rains end.

Poojary also emphasized the need for a revised plan for the Ambalpady underpass project, instructing officials to widen the underpass to accommodate increased traffic flow. Additionally, he mandated that work on the Indrali railway bridge commence within the next 15 days, urging the NHAI to avoid any further delays.

During the meeting, NHAI officials reported that land acquisition for the Malpe-Adi Udupi road is nearing completion. They assured that construction would begin promptly once this process is finalized.

The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kiran Kodgi, District Commissioner Dr. K. Vidyakumari, RO P. V. Brahmanakar, land acquisition officers, engineers, and other relevant department officials.

The push for expedited repairs and project enhancements reflects Poojary’s commitment to improving regional infrastructure and addressing pressing transportation issues in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru area.
