Udupi: In a meaningful initiative blending fitness with force, the Udupi District Police, in collaboration with SDM Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital, Pareeka, concluded the Navachetana Wellness Camp with a spirited valedictory function held at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Memorial Auditorium on July 30.
Delivering the keynote, Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar emphasized the deep connection between well-being and duty. “Policing demands more than discipline—it demands resilience. Health isn’t optional; it’s essential for us to serve with focus, pride, and peace,” he noted, encouraging officers to embrace preventive health habits.
Adding charm and motivation, Sandalwood actor Pramod Shetty, who inaugurated the event, urged personnel to make wellness a daily commitment. “Your strength protects society—make health your personal strength,” he said, calling for similar wellness camps across Karnataka.
The event celebrated the camp’s fitness mentors, honoring contributors such as Zumba coach Poornima Perganna, trainers Sinchana Prakash and Umesh Mattu, dance expert Manjeet Shetty, karate master Santosh Shetty, and physical trainers Nagaraj Prabhu and Krishnayya Devadiga.
Officers Jayalakshmi, Sandeep Kumar, and Vinod shared emotional testimonials of transformation—highlighting weight loss, renewed confidence, and mental strength.
The event also featured Rohith Kumar (confidential advisor), international athlete Abhin Devadiga, Dr. Gopal Poojary (CMO, Soukhyavana), B Seetharam Tolpadithaya (Secretary, SDM Trust), and ASP Sudhakar Nayak, showing united support for a fitter police force.
