Udupi: The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched at an exclusive event at the Abharan Motors Nexa showroom in Kadiyali, Udupi, on Saturday, September 19.
The latest edition of the premium hatchback comes with a refreshed design, upgraded technology, advanced safety features and a new colour palette. The facelifted Baleno was ceremonially unveiled in the presence of banking officials, automobile enthusiasts, educationists, Abharan Motors management, staff and customers.

The launch event brought together representatives from different sectors and customers of the Abharan Motors Nexa showroom.
Ashok Bhandaje, regional business head, Union Bank of India, Udupi; Dr Nishanth Bhat of Manipal Auto Club; Prabhu, retail manager, Union Bank of India; Dr Mahadev Bhat, Udupi; Supriya Shetty, faculty member at Madhavakripa School, Manipal; Subhash Kamath, managing director, Abharan Motors; Nagaraj Kamath, general manager-service; Vinayak Kamath, HR manager; and Sathish Kamath, showroom manager, were among those present.
Staff members and customers also attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nishanth Bhat of Manipal Auto Club highlighted the association between the Baleno name and the premium hatchback segment.
“Abharan Nexa showroom since its inception has been giving exceptional service. Baleno is a legendary car which people still look forward to driving,” he said.
He noted that the Baleno name has been associated with the vehicle since 2015 and described the latest model as a facelift edition with a new colour.
Dr Bhat also congratulated Abharan Motors and wished customers a pleasant driving experience. Kishor compered the programme.
Refreshed exterior design
The new Baleno brings an updated interpretation of NEXA’s Crafted Futurism design language. The front profile features a wider Signature NEXWave Grille with three-dimensional detailing and chrome accents.
The refreshed grille is complemented by a sculpted bumper and Fender Chrome Garnish, giving the hatchback a more pronounced appearance. A Shark Fin Antenna has also been incorporated into the design.
At the front, the Baleno gets LED projector headlamps with NEXTré LED Daytime Running Lamps. The rear features NEXA Signature LED Tail Lamps, giving the vehicle a consistent lighting design across both ends.
The combination of the updated grille, lighting elements and exterior detailing forms a more contemporary appearance for the premium hatchback.
Advanced safety technology
Safety technology is one of the major highlights of the refreshed Baleno. The vehicle comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, using a monocular camera and millimetre-wave radar to monitor the road ahead.
The ADAS package includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, lane departure warning, advanced emergency braking and high beam assist.
These features are designed to provide additional driver assistance in different road conditions while complementing the driver’s control of the vehicle.
The Baleno also gets six airbags, electronic stability programme with Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Together, these features provide a combination of passive and active safety systems aimed at enhancing protection for occupants and improving vehicle stability.
Technology-focused cabin
The new Baleno also combines its refreshed exterior with a range of technology and convenience features.
The vehicle is equipped with the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, providing an integrated multimedia and connectivity experience. A head-up display allows key information to be viewed without requiring the driver to frequently look away from the road.
A 360-degree view camera is another feature aimed at making manoeuvring easier, particularly in tight spaces. Wireless charging adds further convenience for compatible smartphones.
The combination of these features is intended to give the Baleno a technology-oriented cabin while retaining its positioning as a premium hatchback.
New Z-Series engine
The new Baleno is powered by the all-new Z-Series engine, which is designed to provide responsive performance while improving efficiency.
The engine incorporates advanced combustion technology, intelligent cooling and precise air-fuel management. These technologies are intended to support smoother performance and improved fuel efficiency while also contributing to lower emissions.
The focus on efficiency and refinement forms an important part of the updated vehicle’s appeal, particularly in the competitive premium hatchback segment.
Seven colour options
The new Baleno is available in seven colour options, giving customers a wider choice based on individual preferences.
The available shades are Enigmatic Teal Green, NEXA Blue, Opulent Red, Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey and Bluish Black.
