Udupi: Marking its eighth anniversary, Panandhu Udyavara Sangathan officially unveiled the poster for the upcoming Panandhu Cinema Festival 2025 during a special ceremony at Anugraha Palana Kendra. The festival is supported by Udupi Syndicate Credit Souharda Co-operative Society Ltd.
The poster was released by Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of the Diocese of Udupi, who commended the Sangathan’s continued efforts in promoting art and literature in the region. He lauded the cultural enrichment brought about by such events and extended best wishes for the success of the film festival.
The three-day cinema festival is scheduled from August 8 to 10 at the Ave Maria Auditorium located on the Udupi Shoka Mata Temple premises. Each day’s screening will begin at 6:30 pm, featuring award-winning Kannada films—Act 1978, 19.20.21, and Photo—all known for their strong social themes. Entry is free for all moviegoers.
Alongside the poster release, the event also saw the launch of the Konkani book ‘Mog Anim Balidan’ (Love and Sacrifice) by Dr. Eugene D’Souza Moodubelle, in collaboration with the Diocese of Udupi Social Media Commission and BelleVision.com.
Notable guests included Michael D’Souza (Vision Konkani), Ven. Denis Desa, Elias D’Souza (BelleVision.com), HM Pernal (Kital Internet Media), Roshan Crasto, Olivera Matias, Steven Culasso, and Jeevan D’Souza, among others.
The event celebrated creativity, language, and social storytelling through both literature and film.
