Parichaya Pratisthana (R), Pambur, is all set to host a seven-day theatre festival, Parichaya Rangotsava 2025, from February 10 to February 16 at Ranga Parichaya, Pambur. The festival will showcase seven captivating plays in Kannada, Tulu, and Konkani, with performances starting daily at 6:30 pm.

The festival opens on February 10 (Monday) with the Kannada play My Family by Rangayana, Mysuru. Directed by Ganesh Mandarthi and Shravan Heggodu, the play’s story and adaptation are by Satish Tipaturu.

On February 11 (Tuesday), the Tulu play Eedi will be staged by Sumanasa, Kodavoor, Udupi (R). Originally written in Hindi by Sameer Penker, the play is translated into Tulu by Latesh Poojary and directed by Viddu Uchil.

On February 12 (Wednesday), the Konkani play Payn…Parvatak will be presented by Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, St Aloysius Deemed University, Mangaluru, and Astitva (R), Mangaluru. Written by Dr Fr Alvin Serrao and directed by Sweedal D’Souza, this play is sure to engage the audience.

February 13 (Thursday) will feature the Kannada play Anamikana Saavu by Spinning Tree Theatre (R), Vijayapura, based on Athol Fugard’s original work. The play will be designed and directed by Shakeel Ahmad.

On February 14 (Friday), Jotegiruvanu Chandira, a Kannada adaptation of Joseph Stein’s Fiddler on the Roof, will be staged by Sankalpa, Mysuru. Directed by Hulugappa Kattimani, the play will showcase a unique cultural perspective.

On February 15 (Saturday), the Kannada play Bettalata by Mandara (R), Baikady, will be performed. Originally by Dario Fo, the play is adapted by Prakash Garuda and directed by Rohith Baikadi.

The festival concludes on February 16 (Sunday) with the Konkani play Sattvo Upades by Kalakul, Mangaluru, written and directed by Arun Raj Rodrigues.

The inauguration of the festival will take place on February 10, with Satish Tiptur, director of Rangayana, Mysuru, as the chief guest. The valedictory address on February 16 will be delivered by B R Venkataramana Aithal, director of Yaksharangayana, Karkala.

Each play will run for 90 to 120 minutes, strictly adhering to the scheduled time. The event is open to all theatre enthusiasts, with support from the Kannada and Culture Department of Udupi District.
