On Monday morning, a private bus traveling from Shivamogga to Byndoor skidded off the road and fell into a roadside drain near Dali Murklu, Kollur. The accident occurred around 8:45 am when the driver lost control of the Durgamba private bus, which then veered off course and came to a stop after hitting a tree.
The bus was transporting students from Mookambika High School and a PU college. Among the injured were six students from Mookambika High School and eleven from the PU college. Emergency services transported the injured students to the government hospital in Kundapur, where it was reported that five of them had sustained fractures.
The Kollur police have launched an investigation into the incident, registering a case to determine the cause of the accident and any potential negligence. The quick response of emergency services and medical personnel has been crucial in addressing the immediate needs of the injured students and ensuring their timely care.
