Udupi: A car, bike, and lorry were involved in a serial accident at the Santhekatte junction on the morning of Thursday, July 31. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The mishap occurred when a lorry traveling towards Kundapur collided with a car waiting at the median to make a U-turn. The force of the impact pushed the car forward, causing it to hit a two-wheeler that was also positioned to take a U-turn.

This junction has become increasingly accident-prone, as vehicles from both directions—Santhekatte and Kundapur—attempt U-turns at the same narrow stretch. The shared U-turn point creates a traffic choke, particularly during rush hours, leading to frequent close calls and collisions.

Authorities are urged to take immediate steps to improve traffic regulation and junction design at this hotspot to prevent further accidents.

Further updates are awaited.
