In a vibrant display of national pride, the Udupi District Citizens Committee organized a massive tricolour flag parade on May 7 to show solidarity with Operation Sindoor. A colossal 21×14 feet national flag was the centrepiece of the march, which began at Chittaranjan Circle, moved to Maruthi Veethika Circle, and returned to its origin.

The event was more than just a parade—it was a celebration of unity and respect for the Indian Army. Patriotic slogans echoed through the streets, and the atmosphere was charged with emotion as flowers were offered to the national flag.

Adding to the festive spirit, sweets were distributed to onlookers along the parade route, further spreading joy and a sense of togetherness.

Nithyanad Volakad, President of the Udupi District Citizens Committee, lauded the Indian government’s bold move with Operation Sindoor, stating, “We are honouring our Army through this tricolour parade. This is one of the largest flags in the country, and today, it waves in salute to our heroes.”

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students of Mitra School of Nursing and local citizens, including Vinayak Hegde (Kotak Mahindra Bank), Sudhakar, Rajesh Shet, and Taranath Mesta, all of whom joined hands to express their patriotic zeal.

The event was a stirring tribute, turning the streets of Udupi into a sea of saffron, white, and green.
