Udupi: In a proactive effort to enhance public safety and reduce crime, the state police department has rolled out a door-to-door police initiative in Udupi. The program was officially launched at the district level on Friday, with Principal District and Sessions Judge Kiran S. Gangannavar inaugurating it right outside his residence in the Ajjarakadu ward.

The initiative aims to strengthen community-police relations, gather public feedback, raise awareness on safety practices, and identify potential threats before they escalate.

Prominent officials present at the launch included District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, Additional SPs Sudhakar Naik and PA Hegde, DySP DT Prabhu, Udupi City Police Inspector Manjunath Badigera, along with other police personnel.

Through this initiative, police teams will visit homes across various localities, offering crime prevention tips, promoting citizen engagement, and ensuring residents feel safer and more connected to law enforcement.
