The Udupi City Municipality has revoked the licenses of two popular Manipal pubs—Dee-Tee (Bhavani) Lodge & Restaurant and 7th Heaven (Ecstasy) Bar & Restaurant—for repeated violations of operational norms. Security concerns raised by the Manipal Police included inadequate measures during late-night hours, contributing to recurring criminal incidents.
Responding to these concerns, the Superintendent of Police formally requested license suspensions to ensure public safety. Dee-Tee faced five registered cases, while 7th Heaven had four, including incidents involving a DJ party and a case reported in Mumbai. The Excise Department also registered a complaint against 7th Heaven.
The municipality’s decision highlights a strong stance on enforcing safety compliance in nightlife venues.
