In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Udupi district police have arrested two individuals accused of the sustained sale and distribution of narcotics in the region.

The arrested men have been identified as Krishna Achari (43) from Kolalagiri and Abdul Jabtar (27) from Kelarkalabettu. Both were booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have been remanded to judicial custody at Dharwad Central Prison.

The arrests follow a prolonged surveillance operation conducted by the district police, who had been tracking the movements and activities of the accused for an extended period.

Police sources revealed that the duo was engaged in distributing narcotic substances across multiple areas within the district, raising concerns about the spread of illegal drug networks in the region.

Law enforcement officials reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts against drug-related crimes and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
