During the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE) 2025, a group of international visitors explored Udupi on Sunday to discover its rich tourism offerings. The event, held from February 26 to 28 at the International Exhibition Centre in Bengaluru, is organized by the Department of Tourism and the Karnataka Tourism Society, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The expo serves as a platform for business-to-business (B2B) interactions, gathering over 400 buyers from India and more than 25 countries to connect with leading travel and tourism providers from Karnataka.
As part of the event, international tour operators were divided into smaller groups and sent to different districts for hands-on experiences. A 15-member delegation from countries like France, Germany, England, South Korea, Norway, Singapore, Ireland, Israel, and Malaysia visited Udupi, accompanied by officials from the local tourism department. They explored some of the region’s top attractions, including Shri Krishna Mutt, Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village Museum, Malpe Beach, St. Mary’s Island, Trasi Maravanthe Beach, and Sky Dining.
Lunch was arranged at Paradise Isle in Malpe, while their overnight stay, dinner, and cultural activities were hosted at Uva Meridian, Koteshwara. The visitors were impressed by Udupi’s scenic beauty, vibrant culture, and exquisite cuisine, and expressed a keen interest in promoting the area to international tourists. The visit underscored the potential of Udupi as an attractive global tourism destination.
