Udupi: A scooter rider succumbed to injuries, a motorcycle was stolen, and a fisherman tragically drowned in three separate incidents reported in the region.

Scooterist Dies Following Skidding Mishap

Nagaraj, who was involved in an accident on February 3, lost his life on Saturday. The mishap occurred near Yalajuth village while he was returning home with his wife, Asha, after visiting an Ayurvedic clinic. His scooter skidded, allegedly due to high speed, causing a serious leg injury. Despite treatment at multiple hospitals, including a private facility in Mangaluru, he could not survive. His wife sustained only minor injuries. A case has been lodged at the Byndoor police station.

Bike Theft in Manipal

A Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle, valued at ₹1.6 lakh, was stolen from Saralabettu between February 3, 11 PM, and February 4, 1 PM. Owner Poornachandra N, 23, had parked it near Minimart before discovering it missing. Authorities at Manipal police station have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Fisherman Drowns Near Malpe

Rajan, 54, met with a tragic end after falling into the sea near Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir, Malpe, on Thursday. His body was recovered two days later at Malpe Padukere beach. A case of unnatural death has been registered at Malpe police station.
