Udupi — In a vibrant celebration ahead of Independence Day, the Udupi District Police Department hosted a special Rangoli competition exclusively for women police personnel.
The event, held at Shamili Hall, Udupi, saw nine teams from various police stations across the district showcasing their creativity. For the participants, it was not just a competition but also a welcome break from the routine demands of duty. Their intricate and colourful Rangoli designs captivated onlookers, drawing praise from all quarters.
District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar personally visited the venue, admired the artwork, and lauded the artistic talent of the women personnel. Known for initiating welfare and fitness activities for the police force, SP Shankar has been introducing several programmes aimed at improving morale and reducing stress among his team.
From fitness drives to skill-based events, the new SP has been focusing on holistic well-being. The Rangoli competition, with its festive spirit, served as yet another step in strengthening camaraderie while allowing the women officers to showcase their cultural and artistic skills.
