Udupi: Sushanth Brahmavar, an outstanding alumnus of Sri Poorna Prajna Evening College, Udupi district, has etched his name in history with a remarkable record-setting achievement. A young vegetable trader at the A.P.M.C Market Yard, Sushanth also holds a leadership role as a committee member in the BJP OBC Morcha Wing, Udupi.
Sushanth was recently honoured with two prestigious recognitions—the International Worldwide Book of Records and the National India Book of Records—for a spiritual feat that has caught national attention.
As part of the Koti Geetha Lekhana Yajna, a divine initiative spearheaded by Sri Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji at the famed Krishna Matha Temple, Sushanth completed the full recital of the Bhagavad Gita in an astonishing 5 hours and 30 minutes.
This extraordinary effort shattered the previous record of 8 hours, set by students from Patanjali Gurukul, making Sushanth’s achievement all the more significant.
His dedication not only reflects personal discipline but also highlights Udupi’s continued commitment to preserving spiritual and cultural traditions. The feat has brought pride to the region and added momentum to the temple’s ongoing devotional projects.
Sushanth’s record-breaking recital has become a source of inspiration for the local youth and spiritual seekers alike, blending religious fervor with individual excellence.
