Udupi: An unidentified body was discovered near the roadside stretch between Kukkikatte and Manchi, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.
The body has been shifted to the Ajjarakadu District Hospital mortuary with assistance from social worker Nityanand Volakadu. As of now, the identity, residential details, and exact cause of death remain unknown.
Police officials, including Inspector Manjunath Badigeri, PSI Bharatesh, and Head Constable Harish Mala from Udupi City Police Station, were present at the scene and facilitated the post-mortem procedures.
Due to the presence of blood stains on the body, a detailed forensic examination was carried out by experts from Manipal KMC and the forensics department to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Authorities have urged any relatives or acquaintances of the deceased to contact the Civil Aid Center at the District Hospital to aid in the identification process. A thorough investigation is currently underway, and police are exploring all possibilities, including foul play.
