Udupi: As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Stree Shakti Sanghas, a vibrant Attidonji Day program was organized at Garadi Majalu Government Model Higher Primary School, Tenkanidiyur. The event was jointly hosted by Sadhana, Sneha, Sangama, Aikya, and Pragati Stree Shakti Sanghas, along with the Anganwadi Center, Garadi Majalu.
Inaugurating the function, entrepreneur Prakhyat Shetty Belkale emphasized that behind every successful man is the contribution of a woman, and her role in the development of families and society cannot be overstated.
Businessman Prasad Raj Kanchan, addressing the gathering, praised the women for balancing household duties with social commitments. “The contribution of women to the overall progress of Udupi district is immense and deserves recognition,” he noted.
The event was marked by a grand exhibition and sharing of traditional delicacies unique to the region and the season. Local dishes like Tekkareda Thalli, Chilmida Adde, Uppad, Aritha Unde, Caneda Pundi, Patrode, Gunda, Savory Happala, Timareda Bajji, Kuduta Sar, and more were prepared and served, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the area.
The celebration stood as a testament to the power of women’s collectives and their pivotal role in preserving culture while contributing to social development.
