
Uppinangady Police Arrest Two for Possession of MDMA
The Uppinangady police arrested two individuals on Friday and seized 9.4 grams of MDMA during a routine vehicle check at Nekkilady Junction. The arrested are Mohammed Aseef, 21, from Peraje, and Mohammed Nasir, 24, from Kedila.
When Uppinangady Sub-Inspector Avinash H and his team signaled an autorickshaw to stop, the vehicle ignored the signal and continued driving. The driver eventually parked the vehicle by the roadside, and both the driver and passenger attempted to flee. The police managed to apprehend them, but the suspects gave evasive answers during questioning. Upon searching the autorickshaw, the police found 9.4 grams of MDMA worth approximately Rs 18,720, along with 15 small plastic covers.
The autorickshaw was seized, and a case has been registered against the duo under Section 8(c) 22(b) of the NDPS Act and Section 3(5) of BNS. An additional suspect involved in the case is currently absconding.
