Joida: Since Sunday afternoon, the taluk of Joida has been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds, significantly impacting the lives of its residents.
The road connecting Anashi to Ulivi has been inundated with water throughout Sunday, leading to traffic disruptions and posing challenges for local commuters. Additionally, a short bridge on Keloli Road, constructed under Kumbarawada Gram Panchayat, has collapsed due to the relentless rain. The situation is further compounded by the filling up of the Appara Kaneri Reservoir, causing traffic hardships for villagers from eight settlements within the Kundala area.
The Belagavi-Sadasivagad state highway that links Anashi and Joida has also been heavily flooded at multiple points. This has exacerbated an existing issue of potholes along this stretch of highway, making travel extremely challenging for locals.
Moreover, in rural areas such as Terali, Diggi, Anashi, Ulavi, Anamoda, and Bajarakunanga villages, power outages have been reported due to damaged electricity poles caused by the inclement weather.
Local authorities are urged to take necessary actions to address these issues.
