At the Shiranal Ayush Health Centre in Chadchana Taluk, Vijayapur District, Doctor Narayan Rathod, a Health Inspector, reportedly caused chaos by arriving at the hospital intoxicated. Dr. Rathod allegedly went on a rampage, damaging hospital property, breaking windows, and smashing furniture. The situation took a dramatic turn when he collapsed and lost consciousness within the hospital premises.
This is not the first time Dr. Rathod has been accused of misconduct; he had previously been suspended for consuming alcohol while on duty. There are also allegations of verbal abuse towards female patients in the past.
In response to the incident, both the public and hospital staff are calling for his immediate suspension. Deputy Commissioner T. Bhoobalan condemned the doctor’s actions, stating, “Such actions cannot be tolerated at any cost. I will request the Ayush department to take serious disciplinary action against the erring doctor.”
