A clip showcasing widespread dishonesty during an exam has gone viral across social media platforms, with claims that it was taken from a UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) examination. The video was shared by a Facebook user named Abhi Ghosh, who captioned it, “IAS Exam centres of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand !!! The future of Indian governance.”

However, after an investigation by Vishvas News, it was clarified that the footage did not originate from the UPSC but rather from a law exam held at City Law College in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The video, recorded by LLB student Shivam Singh on February 27, 2024, shows students openly cheating by using study guides during their law examination.

In the footage, a person walks through classrooms, revealing how students are using reference materials to copy answers after receiving the question papers. The person filming points out the mass cheating happening, exclaiming:

“Look at the guide, look at the guide, question papers are out, and cheating is happening in full swing at City Law College Barabanki.”

This individual accuses the college of widespread dishonesty, calling it a corruption-ridden environment.

Following the viral exposure, authorities canceled the law exam, fined the college Rs 2 lakh, and barred it from conducting exams for the next six years. The misinformation spread by Ghosh has misled many, especially those concerned about the integrity of national exams like the UPSC.
