Volkswagen India’s Bold Moves: Exciting Launches Ahead!
After introducing the VW Virtus, Volkswagen India has been relatively quiet, while Skoda, its sibling brand, has actively launched the Kylaq and plans to roll out the Kodiaq, Superb, and Octavia vRS soon. Meanwhile, Volkswagen has yet to disclose its confirmed launch lineup for India. However, one of the most thrilling vehicles is on its way!
Golf GTI Set for India Debut
Earlier this year, Volkswagen confirmed that the much-awaited Golf GTI would hit Indian roads soon. According to sources, the car may arrive by February or March 2025 as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), carrying a premium price tag. The expected on-road price in Mumbai could be around ₹50 lakh. Under the hood, it will house a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, churning out 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
More Volkswagen Cars Incoming!
Apart from the Golf GTI, Volkswagen is preparing to launch the new Tiguan Allspace, a seven-seater SUV built on the Skoda Kodiaq’s platform. While the launch timeline is yet to be confirmed, another anticipated model is the VW Tera, a compact SUV inspired by the Skoda Kylaq. Additionally, Volkswagen is gearing up to enter the EV segment with a Creta-sized electric SUV, expected to arrive by 2027.
By late 2025 or early 2026, Volkswagen is likely to bring its global models to India. Additionally, facelift versions of the Taigun and Virtus will debut in the second half of 2025 with new features and updates.
