Born without arms because of a rare defect, Jessica Cox of Arizona crossed all physical and emotional barriers to become the only person in the world without arms to have a pilot’s license. 
Jessica recalls being judged throughout during her childhood and desired to achieve something great and not focus on the things she cannot do. And now?
Now, she even has her name in the Guinness Book of World for the same and attained a black belt in martial arts at the age of 14.
How does she manage day-to-do activities?
She uses her feet for bathing, eating, dressing and can even drive. But, Jessica was not always comfortable about her appearance and wore prosthetic arms with hooks on the end till eight grade. Soon she realized that her whole life is about doing things differently.
It was in elementary school that she discovered her dream of flying and taking her friends for ride.
But before how to learn to fly, she learned to drive using feet only. It was a tiresome process for her as even after passing the test, her license was suspended because a neighbour complained that her driving was unsafe.
Years later when she took her flying lessons, she had to convince her instructor to believe that she can do everything with her feet.
Jessica can secure a four-point harness in five minutes, that once took her 45 minutes. After practicing for three years, she received her pilot’s license in 2008 and that led to a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI.
Cox believes that it’s easy to give up, but important to be persistent and that is how she has achieved everything.
Although, one thing that she still can’t do is tie her hair into a ponytail. Her husband, Patrick Chamberlain, who is also her manager does it for her. After graduating in Psychology from University of Arizona, she now travels throughout the world as a motivational speaker.
