“Be safe. And if you can’t be safe, be smart,” says Delhi girl Khyati Khandelwal on Facebook in a post which has gone viral on social media. It details the unusual way her 17-year-old friend allegedly escaped an  uncomfortable and dangerous situation.
In her original post, now unavailable but reposted on various social networking sites, Ms Khandelwal explained how her friend allegedly pretended to be possessed after two men grabbed her in a relatively secluded part of Punjabi Bagh on May 8.

“She acted as if she was a ghost and started speaking in a paranormal way, she would laugh hard at times, and the next moment just stare at the men’s faces. (Very fortunately, she had left her house with open, unkept hair),” read Ms Khandelwal’s original post.

The unnamed friend’s tactic apparently worked and made one man run away. The other seemed a tougher nut to crack so the 17-year-old put on a more dramatic performance. “Without thinking, she scratched the guy’s hand so that it would bleed and began to rub his blood on her face while laughing as loud and evil as she could,” Ms Khandelwal wrote on Facebook. “As gross as it sounds, it worked and the second man too, got completely scared and left her, running away, too,” she added.

Several people on social media have praised the young woman, calling her brave. Take a look at the post:

A Facebook user Khyati Khandelwal recently posted about an incident that happened with her 17-year-old friend in New Delhi.
The incident took place in Punjabi Bagh on the night of May 8, where two guys grabbed her.
In order to escape the harassers, the girl played a smartest move and pretended to be possessed by an evil spirit. She acted as if she was a ghost and started speaking in paranormal way, she would laugh hard at times, and then she would just stare at the men’s faces.

“She scratched the guy’s hand so that it would bleed and began to rub his blood on her face while laughing as loud and evil as she could,” writes Khyati Khandelwal.
The original post by Khyati Khandelwal read:

“Last night, one of my extremely close friends had gone to the market at around 10pm in Delhi. On her way, two uncouth men began to follow her. By their looks and behavior she knew something is not right. They followed her for about 5 minutes and then they grabbed her by her waist and pulled her away and at that hour, there was nobody around in the street.
Now this is a situation in which most of us would start screaming at the top of our voices for help but instead, she made the smartest move, she did something that probably wouldn’t occur to any of our minds specially in such a situation.

She acted as if she was a ghost and started speaking in a paranormal way, she would laugh hard at times, and the next moment just stare at the men’s faces. (Very fortunately, she had left her house with open, unkept hair).

Looking at this, one of the two got extremely scared and resorted to run, while the other one was determined that there is nothing to worry about.
Now in this situation, she really didn’t know what to do anymore. Without thinking, she scratched the guy’s hand so that it would bleed and began to rub his blood on her face while laughing as loud and evil as she could.

As gross as it sounds, it worked and the second man too, got completely scared and left her, running away, too.
She is a seventeen year old friend of mine who didn’t want her name to be revealed. But when I heard about this from her, I was so moved by the witty escape she made, that I couldn’t help but post about this.

To everyone out there, be safe. And if you can’t be safe, be smart like her.”
Within no time the post went viral all over social media platform. The post was liked and shared by thousands of people.
Many people appreciated the girl for her presence of mind, while some also thought that it was a fake story.
