Sharjah: A 13-year-old student from Sharjah in the UAE is drawing attention for turning a simple question about student engagement into an award-winning AI education platform and a separate open-source tool for developers.
Adam Ahmed, a Year 10 student, initially developed FutureEduAI to explore whether learning could be made as engaging as video games. The project finished among the Top 20 in a Decoding Data Science AI Application Challenge. He later rebuilt the idea as ScoolBot, an AI-powered and gamified learning platform aligned with UAE Ministry of Education standards.
Young student earns international recognition
ScoolBot went on to secure fourth place in another AI Application Challenge before receiving wider recognition. It won Gold in the Best AI Education category at the International AI Awards 2026 and also received Gold Recognition at the TeenTech Awards 2026.
The platform combines game-based quizzes, an AI tutor, classroom management features and progress tracking. It is designed to support students, teachers and parents, with tools intended to make learning more interactive while helping educators monitor progress.
Adam also sought feedback from teachers and school principals in Sharjah, using their suggestions to refine the platform.
A second idea solves an AI problem
While developing ScoolBot, Adam encountered another challenge. He experimented with several AI coding agents simultaneously but found that they could duplicate work, overwrite changes or interfere with one another.
His response was Bothread, a free, open-source tool designed to help multiple AI coding agents communicate, coordinate tasks and avoid conflicts.
The tool was launched in June 2026 and has already attracted early interest from developers, according to information cited by The Times of India.
From curiosity to innovation
Adam’s journey highlights how experimentation and persistence can turn a young student’s curiosity into practical technology. His first project did not win the top prize, but he used the experience to improve his idea.
His story offers an encouraging message to young learners: innovation does not always begin with a perfect solution. Sometimes, it starts with asking a different question and having the determination to keep building.
