At least 25 students were tragically killed after a bus carrying 44 children caught fire in Thailand, AFP reported. The incident occurred near the Zeer Rangsit shopping mall on Phahon Yothin Road in Khu Khot around 12:30 pm local time. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The bus was part of an educational trip from Uthai Thani province, located 250 km north of Bangkok. Six teachers were also on board. So far, 16 students and three teachers have been hospitalised.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra offered condolences as investigations continue.
