
Abu Dhabi’s Grand New Year Celebration: Fireworks, Drones, and Cultural Shows
On December 31, the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, will usher in the New Year with a spectacular 53-minute fireworks display, marking an unforgettable start to 2025. The event will feature a stunning blend of fireworks, drones, and light shows, all designed to break six new Guinness World Records.
The festivities will begin at 6:00 PM, with fireworks launching every hour until midnight. At 11:40 PM, a 20-minute drone show will take center stage, featuring 6,000 drones creating mesmerizing artistic images in the sky. Among the highlights, 3,000 drones will display the message “Happy New Year,” spreading festive cheer to all.
The Emirates Fountain Stage will host an advanced light and laser show, using 80 lasers to illuminate the Al Wathba skyline, while over 100,000 balloons are set to be released into the air, adding to the magic.
Gates to the festival will open at 2:00 PM, with performances by traditional bands like Al-Ayyala, Al-Razfa, and Al-Nadba in the Heritage Village Square, as well as police band music. The festival will also feature carnival shows, folkloric performances, and children’s activities, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all ages.
Visitors are encouraged to book tickets in advance, as entry will not be allowed once the venue reaches full capacity. The festival’s celebrations will showcase Abu Dhabi’s commitment to cultural exchange and artistic diversity.
