A worker at an Amazon distribution centre in Troutdale, Oregon, has died at the workplace, sparking concern over employee safety and emergency response procedures.

The company confirmed the incident, which occurred last week at its PDX9 warehouse facility.

Worker collapsed on warehouse floor

According to reports, the 46-year-old employee collapsed inside the warehouse and was later declared dead.

Some reports alleged the man remained unattended for a significant period while routine operations continued nearby.

The exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Employees raise concerns

The incident has reportedly left several workers distressed, with some expressing anxiety about returning to the facility.

Online discussions also raised concerns over heat, ventilation and previous injury complaints at the warehouse.

However, these claims remain unverified.

Amazon issues statement

A company spokesperson said Amazon was deeply saddened by the employee’s passing and extended condolences to his family.

The company added that it had contacted the family, offered support resources and arranged on-site grief counsellors for employees at the facility.

Amazon also thanked local emergency responders and authorities.

Wider debate on workplace safety

The incident has reignited debate around workplace conditions, emergency response times and employee wellbeing in large logistics centres.

Labour rights advocates often stress the importance of rapid medical intervention, safe temperatures and mental health support in high-pressure warehouse environments.#Amazon #Oregon #WorkplaceSafety #Employee #Warehouse #newskarnataka
