For the past four years, Gary and Anna Gray have dedicated themselves to creating a spectacular Christmas light show that has become a local tradition in West Lothian. Since 2020, their home has been transformed into a dazzling display featuring more than 24,000 lights and 150 props, including an LED Christmas tree, candy canes, and angel wings. All of these lights are connected to Gary’s laptop and synchronized to music, creating a high-tech, magical spectacle.
The couple spends an entire year preparing for the event, with 10 months of planning and six weeks of construction. Each December, hundreds of people gather to witness the enchanting “Armadale illuminations” that light up the neighborhood.
Over the years, their efforts have raised thousands of pounds for various causes, including Cancer Research, the British Heart Foundation, and the Armadale Shed charity. This year, the Grays are fundraising for Alzheimer’s Scotland, in loving memory of Anna’s grandmother, who battled dementia.
2024 marks the final year Gary and Anna will organize the beloved light show, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and holiday cheer that will be remembered for years to come.
