Dramatic footage has emerged showing newborn babies being evacuated from a hospital in Bushehr, Iran, after the medical facility was damaged during the ongoing US-Israeli strikes on the country.

Medical staff and Iranian Red Crescent workers were seen carefully wheeling infants from the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to waiting ambulances as emergency teams worked to move them to safer locations.

Infants rushed to safety

The footage showed healthcare workers carrying incubators and transporting newborns who require specialised medical care. Ambulances were stationed outside the facility to quickly transfer the babies to other hospitals for treatment.

Authorities said the evacuation was necessary after parts of the hospital were damaged during the air strikes, which form part of the wider military campaign against Iran.

Hospitals affected by strikes

Reports from Iranian media indicated that several medical facilities and health infrastructure have been affected by the strikes in recent days. Footage broadcast on state television also showed broken windows and structural damage at hospitals following the attacks.

Emergency responders and medical teams conducted inspections inside the building while relocating patients to safer areas.

Rising humanitarian concerns

The evacuation of newborns has drawn attention to the humanitarian consequences of the escalating conflict in the region. Hospitals, schools and residential areas have reportedly suffered damage during the strikes, increasing fears for civilian safety.

Medical workers involved in the evacuation emphasised the urgency of protecting vulnerable patients, particularly premature infants who depend on intensive care equipment.

As the conflict continues to intensify, international observers and humanitarian organisations have raised concerns about the impact of military operations on healthcare facilities and civilians, urging all sides to ensure protection for critical infrastructure.
