Washington: Barack Obama, former US President visited the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC delivering the gifts on December 19, greeting patients and their parents.
Obama gave a surprise visit to the sick children at the hospital in Washington. Obama had donned the role of Father Christmas to cheer the ailing children and their caretakers during the Christmas season.
The children at the hospital were delighted to see the former president in a festive Santa hat, armed with a sack of gifts
“I just want to say thank you to all of you guys,” Obama told staff, who greeted him with rapturous cheers, in a video he shared on his Twitter account.
“We’ve had the chance to talk to some of the wonderful kids and their families,” he added.
“As the dad of two girls, I can only imagine in that situation to have nurses and staff and doctors and people who are caring for them and looking after them… that’s the most important thing there is.”
The Obama Foundation has released photographs of the former president’s visit to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC delivering goodies. Obama had dressed up as Santa last year and had visited middle school children at the Boys & Girls Club in Washington DC.
