A Delta Airlines flight flipped over upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport, injuring 18 passengers. The incident, which occurred on a slippery, snow-covered runway, has drawn significant attention due to its unexpected nature. Delta Airlines confirmed the injuries, stating that those affected were immediately transported to nearby hospitals.

A passenger aboard the flight, John Nelson, shared a chilling video of the evacuation. The footage showed the chaos as passengers hurriedly fled the wreckage, with the plane overturned in the snowy landscape. In the video, Nelson can be heard gasping, saying, “We just landed. Our plane crashed. It’s upside-down.” Emergency responders were seen extinguishing flames while passengers continued to evacuate the scene.

Nelson recounted the harrowing experience to CNN, describing the moment of impact: “When we hit, it was just a super hard — it hit the ground, and the plane went sideways,” he recalled. Nelson also noted seeing “a big fireball” on the plane’s left side before trying to escape. “We tried to get out of there as quickly as possible,” he added.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian expressed his sympathy, saying, “The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident.” He also extended gratitude to first responders and Delta team members on-site.

This accident follows a series of fatal aviation incidents, raising concerns about air travel safety in the wake of recent crashes.
