Dubai: Electric Way, a leading value-added distributor of electrical products, cables, lighting solutions and industrial electrical systems in the UAE, has broken ground on a major expansion of its distribution centre at the National Industries Park in Dubai.

The new facility, spanning more than 125,000 square feet, is expected to more than double the company’s existing operational capacity and strengthen its logistics and supply chain capabilities across the Middle East.

The expansion is aimed at meeting the growing demand from infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, utilities and data centre sectors while improving supply chain efficiency and accelerating bulk order fulfilment.

Groundbreaking ceremony marks major milestone

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamad Meeran Saheb, Founder and Chairman of Electric Way; Mr. Atheeqe Ansari, Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Uzair Ansari, Director; and chief guest Mr. Akbar Mohideen Thumbay, Vice President of Thumbay Group. Senior management members, stakeholders and distinguished guests were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Atheeqe Ansari said the expansion represents a significant step in the company’s growth journey.

“Today represents a major leap forward for Electric Way. This expansion is not merely about adding physical space but about strengthening our capability to innovate, serve customers better and meet growing market demands. By doubling our operational capacity, we are ensuring that Electric Way remains agile, responsive and ready for future growth,” he said.

Expansion to support future growth

The new logistics facility is designed to support advanced warehousing operations and modern supply chain management systems. The company expects the project to enhance service delivery standards while supporting regional industrial growth.

Mr. Akbar Mohideen Thumbay praised the initiative and highlighted the importance of logistics infrastructure in supporting economic development.

Construction of the project is being undertaken by Ashiyana Contracting, while Model Engineering Consultants is providing engineering supervision. The facility is being developed in accordance with international standards for quality, safety and sustainability.
