Tech billionaire Elon Musk has been named in newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents, alongside high-profile figures such as Bill Gates and Steve Bannon, sparking fresh controversy around the long-suppressed case.

Musk’s name in Epstein itinerary

A six-page document, released by Democratic lawmakers, included an itinerary dated December 6, 2014, noting a tentative trip by Musk to Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands — the site where many women said Epstein abused them.

Next to Musk’s name, a handwritten note read: “Is this still happening?” It remains unclear whether Musk ever made the trip.

Musk, however, categorically denied the claims.

“This is false,” he posted on X.

Other high-profile mentions

The documents also revealed:

  • A planned breakfast with Steve Bannon (Trump ally) on February 16, 2019.
  • A tentative breakfast with Bill Gates on December 5, 2014.

Democratic lawmakers have called on the US Justice Department to release the full Epstein files. However, the Trump administration has repeatedly denied the existence of any “client list,” pushing back against conspiracy theories that Epstein was blackmailing political and business elites.

Musk vs. Trump on Epstein files

Musk, who recently stepped down as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after a feud with Trump, has been pressuring the administration to release all Epstein-related documents.

In one post on X, he asked:

“Are there likely to be electronic records in any government or commercial computers recording who travelled on Epstein’s plane to the US Virgin Islands?”

In another, Musk directly challenged the President:

“Seriously. He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised.”

Musk had earlier deleted a post implying Trump’s own name appeared in the Epstein files, later admitting he “went too far.”

Broader context

The latest revelations are expected to intensify political pressure on Washington, as public scrutiny around Epstein’s network — and his powerful associates — continues. Lawmakers insist that transparency is the only way to end speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the case.
