Washington DC: Elon Musk’s six-year-old son X Æ A-Xii, popularly known as “Lil X”, has increasingly become a visible presence alongside his father at major political and diplomatic events across the world.

From appearances at the White House to attending a state dinner at China’s Great Hall of the People, the young child has drawn global attention for accompanying Musk into spaces typically reserved for political leaders, diplomats and top business figures.

Recent videos of Lil X walking beside Musk during high-profile international engagements have gone viral on social media, sparking curiosity about the child’s unusual exposure to global political and corporate circles at such a young age.

Lil X spotted at China state dinner

The latest buzz surrounding Lil X emerged after he was seen attending a formal state dinner hosted at the Great Hall of the People during US President Donald Trump’s reported visit to China.

Videos shared online showed the child holding Musk’s hand while jogging lightly through the venue carrying a tiger-head themed crossbody bag inspired by Chinese guochao fashion culture.

For the event, Lil X wore a grey Chinese-style vest, adding to public fascination around his appearance at such a prestigious diplomatic gathering.

Frequent appearances at political events

This is not the first time the Tesla CEO’s son has appeared at influential global venues.

In February last year, Lil X accompanied Musk during a visit to the White House and was seen alongside Donald Trump.

Another viral video from March 2025 showed Trump and Lil X walking together toward a helicopter while cameras captured the moment. Trump flashed his trademark thumbs-up gesture while the child smiled and jogged beside him.

The young boy has also appeared at international political events outside the United States.

Presence at Italy political conference

Back in December 2023, Musk attended the annual conference organised by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party in Rome.

Lil X joined his father on stage during the event, once again attracting widespread online attention.

Observers noted that the child’s repeated presence at high-level political and business gatherings is unusual even for children of global billionaires.

Born in 2020, X Æ A-Xii is the eldest son of Elon Musk and Canadian musician Grimes.

The couple also share daughter Exa Dark Sideræl and son Techno Mechanicus.

Lil X was also spotted with Musk during election night celebrations, where he appeared in photographs alongside members of the Trump family.

At one point, Trump reportedly referred to the child as “a gorgeous, perfect boy.”

The frequent public appearances have led many social media users to wonder why Musk often brings his young son to high-profile engagements.

Responding to a social media post earlier, Musk jokingly described Lil X as his “emotional support human.”
