Forbes has unveiled its 2025 list of the world’s 10 most powerful nations, with the United States securing the top position, followed by China in second place. Israel rounds off the top ten. The rankings are determined based on leadership, economic strength, political influence, global alliances, and military capabilities.
The research behind this ranking was conducted by BAV Group, led by Professor David Reibstein of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in collaboration with US News & World Report.
Top 10 Most Powerful Countries in 2025:
1️⃣ United States – GDP: $30.34 trillion | Population: 345 million
2️⃣ China – GDP: $19.53 trillion | Population: 1.419 billion
3️⃣ Russia – GDP: $2.2 trillion | Population: 84 million
4️⃣ United Kingdom – GDP: $3.73 trillion | Population: 69 million
5️⃣ Germany – GDP: $4.92 trillion | Population: 85.4 million
6️⃣ South Korea – GDP: $1.95 trillion | Population: 51.7 million
7️⃣ France – GDP: $3.28 trillion | Population: 66.5 million
8️⃣ Japan – GDP: $4.39 trillion | Population: 123.7 million
9️⃣ Saudi Arabia – GDP: $1.14 trillion | Population: 33.9 million
🔟 Israel – GDP: $550.91 billion | Population: 9.38 million
India’s Global Ranking
Although India boasts a GDP of $3.55 trillion and a population of 1.43 billion, it ranks 12th on the list, missing out on a top 10 position.
