Fatal crash on Angeles Crest Highway
According to authorities, the fatal single-vehicle crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Angeles Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Mountains. Zampella was travelling in a high-performance Ferrari when the car reportedly veered off the roadway, struck a concrete barrier, and caught fire. Both occupants of the vehicle later died from their injuries. Investigators said the cause of the crash remains under review, and the identity of the passenger has not been publicly released.

Zampella rose to global prominence as a co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise in 2003 during his tenure at Infinity Ward. The series went on to become one of the most commercially successful entertainment properties in history, redefining first-person shooters for a generation of players.
