A disturbing video showing an Indian man being physically assaulted by another individual at a food outlet in Toronto has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage among viewers. The video, which first surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), captures a heated altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation inside what appeared to be a McDonald’s restaurant.
Altercation caught on camera
According to the viral clip, the incident took place near the ‘Mobile Order Pick Up’ counter of the outlet. The aggressor, identified by his Toronto Blue Jays jacket, approached another man believed to be of Indian origin. The exchange began as a verbal argument before quickly turning violent.
Witnesses said the Canadian man appeared agitated and threw his phone aside during the confrontation. When the Indian man picked it up, the aggressor advanced towards him, pushed him, and grabbed him by the collar, accusing him of “acting superior.”
In the video, the Indian man can be heard warning calmly, “You might get yourself in trouble,” to which the aggressor responded angrily, “Did you say that to me?” He then continued to push and intimidate the Indian man, demanding to know what he had said.
Bystanders and staff intervene
Despite being provoked, the Indian man refrained from retaliating and appeared to defend himself passively. A McDonald’s staff member, along with other onlookers, quickly intervened, asking both men to “take it outside.”
The aggressor continued to accuse the Indian man of arrogance before being escorted out of the premises by the restaurant staff. Other customers in the outlet appeared visibly disturbed by the confrontation.
Video draws widespread reactions online
The video has sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many users condemning the aggressor’s behaviour and calling for action against him. Several commenters also expressed concern over the safety of immigrants in Canada, noting a rise in public altercations captured on video.
Some users urged local authorities to investigate the incident, while others praised the Indian man for remaining composed despite being physically confronted.
Authorities yet to confirm details
As of now, there has been no official statement from the Toronto Police regarding the altercation. The exact date and location of the incident remain unverified.
IndiaToday.in could not independently confirm the authenticity of the video or whether any complaints were filed following the assault.
The incident has once again brought attention to the growing number of racially charged confrontations being captured and shared online, prompting calls for better awareness and intervention measures in public spaces.
